Operations in Various Forms

There are four Arithmetic Operations. You probably remember learning them in grade school:

• Addition
  • For example, $2 + 3 = 5$
• Subtraction
  • For example, $5 - 3 = 2$
• Multiplication
  • For example, $2 \times 3 = 6$
  • Can also be written as $(2)(3)$ or $2 \cdot 3$
• Division
  • For example $6 / 2 = 3$
  • Can also be written as $6 \div 2$ or $\frac{6}{2}$
